Branding Photos with Sindy Warren at Blue Tree Coaching

I have had the pleasure of working with Sindy to photograph her branding photos on two different occasions over two years. Each session came with a new focus and goal and were photographed with a similar mood and style…

Photo Session One

Our first photo session was after a complete rehaul of her brand - logo, brandmarks, website, color palette, etc - with Norfolk Design Co.

Norfolk provided a detailed shot list, a Pinterest board, wardrobe guidelines, and content strategy for photos.

She booked a two hour session focused on photos of her on three different backdrops (within her new brand colors) and in different outfits that reflected her natural personality.

Her brand colors were blue, off white, light beige, brown velvet, and dark gray. So for backdrops we used my more neutral ones (light brown/tan, ivory limewash, and pure white) that would complement the use of blue, browns, and grey in text or logos.

For her wardrobe, she stuck to beige/white outfits and jeans were her only “color” so nothing would clash with her brand’s main color of blue. And then, of course, the nude nail polish to tie it all together!

Sindy also needed a great headshot to go on her website section featuring her podcast as well as images with her microphone to promote her podcast on social media.

Podcast Images for Social Media

The idea was to photograph with enough space around her so that text can be added later or a landscape shot could be used as a Facebook banner.

Photo Session Two

Our second photo session was this last month and focused on new service offerings, her yoga and book.

I photographed knowing many of these images would be used alongside social media content as well as on her website.

She stuck with a neutral colored wardrobe and we used two of the same backdrops we used in our first branding photo session.

For me, the goal was to blend both sessions (taken in two different years) so that they would work seamlessly together on her website as well as social media.

Photos with her book

A key piece to this second photo shoot was to highlight her in yoga poses to use across her website and social media. She recently integrated yoga and coaching as a new service and needed a variety of images to use in marketing throughout the year.

What I love about photographing yoga positions are the unique angles, ability to close in on simple parts of a pose, and the allowance for space in between movements.

In every branding session I photograph, I look for these opportunities throughout my subject’s movements and use of tools related to their craft.

What I love about writing this blog post is that there are just WAY TOO MANY photos I want to share with you.

While this is a tough situation for me, this is a really great problem to have when you come in for branding photos to update your website, have a steady stream of social media content to plan throughout the year, and also write your own blog posts.

You’re welcome. ; )
